Visit Dendra Temple from luxor
Tour Overview
The Dendera Temple (often mistakenly called "Dendra") is one of the best-preserved and most colorful temple complexes in all of Egypt. It is located about 70 km (roughly 45 miles) north of Luxor, near the town of Qena, and is a very popular day trip for visitors based in Luxor. The Temple of Hathor at Dendera is famous for its remarkably intact ceilings, vibrant astronomical reliefs, and the famous "Dendera light" and "Zodiac" carvings. Unlike many other Egyptian temples that were ruined over time, the roof of the Dendera temple is largely intact, and the colors on the columns and walls remain strikingly vivid, offering a rare glimpse into how these temples looked in antiquity.
